BETHEL, NY – With mere hours remaining before the gates open for practice for this year’s Alliance Shippers’ LegendStock IX at Bethel Motor Speedway, we present the final installment of our “Where Are They Now?” series, taking a peek at what former Masters and Pro division drivers are up to now.
2008, 2009, and 2010 – Tim Brockhouse – Tim has remained VERY active in Legends competition. In 2014, he finished fourth in national Masters division points, and was the MN state champion in the division. He collected the zMax Touring Series Masters division championship last year, and has been busy so far in 2016, running on both dirt and asphalt. In fact, he is currently leading Asphalt Masters national points, with 11 division wins so far this season. In addition, he sits 12th in Dirt Masters national points, with 12 division wins to his credit.He has raced at more than 12 different tracks so far this season.
2011 – Jim Sylvester – Jim has already filed his entry for this year’s Alliance Shippers’ LegendStock event, and will be looking to pick up a second guitar trophy. He was the NY state Masters champion in both 2013 and 2015, and presently in second in state points and is ranked 15th nationally with two Masters division wins to his credit. Jim has raced at such tracks as Riverhead Raceway, Wall Stadium, Anderson Motor Speedway, and Evergreen Raceway Park so far this season.
2012, 2013, and 2015 – Joe Graf – Joe picked up the Bethel Pro/Masters championship in 2012, while finishing the season second in national points. He was the NJ state champion in both 2012 and 2013, but has been racing a limited schedule over the past several seasons. Joe kicked off the 2016 season with three starts at Winter Nationals, and has since raced intermittently at Bethel Motor Speedway. He has collected one Masters division win so far this season.
2014 – Richie Coy – The 2014 Bethel Pro/Masters champion has been having a stellar season so far in 2016, and will be looking to carry that momentum into LegendStock in pursuit of a second guitar. The 2014 and 2015 NJ state champion currently sits second in NJ state points, with 11 Masters win to his credit already this season. Richie enters LegendStock as the current Bethel Motor Speedway Pro/Masters points leader.
2008 – Michael Gervais – Since moving out of Legends, Michael has been competing in asphalt Modifieds. He can be found racing in the SK Modified division at Stafford Motor Speedway, where is presently sits 10th in points. He currently has one top five and four top ten finishes in the class this season.
2009, 2010, and 2011 – Daniel Hemric – The “Hotshoe”, who has been the only repeat overall LegendStock winner, captured his first Late Model win the same year that he collected his first LegendStock win. Many know him as the winner of the historic “Legends Million” at Charlotte, but he has proven himself to be versatile in many forms of competition, capturing his first K&N East Series pole at Greenville Pickens Speedway in 2015, while also competing in his first full season in the Camping World Truck Series with NTS Motorsports. Daniel currently pilots the #19 in the CWTS, driving for Brad Keselowski Racing. He presently sits third in the standings, with four top fives and nine top tens in 12 starts so far this year.
2012 – Matt Pappa – Matt is the only driver to have brought home a LegendStock guitar in two different divisions – after winning the Young Lions guitar in 2011, he went on to pick up the Pro division and overall LegendStock race win in 2012, on the day of his 15th birthday. The 2011 track champion at both Bethel Motor Speedway and Albany-Saratoga Speedway picked up the Chemung track championship in 2012, and capped off that season by winning the Pro national championship. From 2013 through 2015, Matt could be found behind the wheel of a dirt Sportsman car, as part of Brett Hearn’s racing team. Among the tracks where Matt recorded victories in the Sportsman car are Lebanon Valley Speedway and Albany-Saratoga Speedway. He raced at numerous different tracks, including Utica Rome Speedway and Orange County Fair Speedway. Matt is currently in college, studying cinematography.
2013 – Tyler Green – Since recording his success at LegendStock in 2013, Tyler Green has stepped away from Legends racing. He is currently a spotter for Chip Ganassi Racing, spotting for Jamie McMurray.
2014 – Trey Jarrell – The 2014 VA state Pro champion has moved predominantly to Late Model racing. While racing pages state that he drives the #84 Legends car with Kyle Beattie Racing, there are no recorded INEX starts for Trey. He is presently driving the #12 Kaytech Inc./Mark Reedy Racing Super Late Model.
2015 – Raven Schrantz – Raven has made two Legends starts so far in 2016 at Evergreen Raceway Park. She has also competed in a Late Model at Evergreen, where she presently sits ninth in points for the division.
